To our NAWIC Tampa Members and Friends,

The past month has been nothing short of inspiring for our chapter. Every event, every meeting, and every conversation has reminded me why NAWIC Tampa is such a powerful force for women in construction. We are growing, we are visible, and we are building something meaningful together.

Our Members Are the Heart of This Chapter

I want to emphasize something that matters deeply to our future: membership is the foundation of our chapter’s growth. When women join NAWIC, they aren’t just signing up for meetings—they’re stepping into a community that elevates careers, builds confidence, and opens doors.

And here’s the truth: Our members are the ones who become our leaders. Every board member, every committee chair, every event lead—each one started as a member who decided to step forward.

I’ll be honest… I already have my eye on some of you. If you’ve ever felt that spark to lead, to contribute, to shape the direction of this chapter—reach out to me. I am here to guide you, support you, and help you step into that next level. We need future leaders, and we need you.

Girls Construction Camp – A Huge Success in the Making

Our Girls Construction Camp planning is in full swing, and this year is shaping up to be our biggest and most impactful camp yet. The energy from our volunteers, partners, and sponsors has been incredible. We have opened up volunteer spots to members as a priority.  However, we are opening up those spots to community members on Tuesday.  If you were thinking of volunteering for a day at Construction camp, sign up today.  This camp is more than an event—it’s an investment in the next generation of women builders, engineers, and innovators. I cannot wait to see it come to life.

Clay Shoot Fundraiser – We Need Major Sponsors

Our annual Clay Shoot is right around the corner, and it remains one of our most important fundraisers of the year. These funds support:

We still need major sponsors, and I’m asking our member companies to seriously consider stepping up. Sponsorship isn’t just a logo on a banner—it’s a direct investment in the advancement of women in our industry. It strengthens our chapter, expands our reach, and fuels the mission we all believe in.

We have a full calendar of events coming up, and I truly look forward to seeing your faces at our upcoming meetings. The energy in the room each month is unmatched, and your presence is what makes our chapter feel like home.

A quick reminder: Registration for the May Meeting closes at noon on Friday, so be sure to secure your spot early.

Girls Construction Camp

NAWIC Tampa is gearing up for one of our most impactful annual programs Girls Construction Camp, a week‑long, hands‑on experience designed to introduce young ladies to the world of construction. This camp is more than a series of activities; it’s an opportunity to spark curiosity, build confidence, and show the next generation that they belong in this industry.

Each day of camp highlights a different trade, giving students the chance to learn directly from professionals, try real tools, and see the many career paths available in construction. We’re thrilled to share that Power Design has already committed to leading our Electrical Day on Friday, June 12, bringing their expertise and energy to the campers.
We are still seeking partners for the remaining days of camp:
•     Monday, June 8 – Architectural Design
Looking for a company to lead demonstrations and introduce students to design concepts.
•     Tuesday – Concrete Day
Seeking companies willing to provide hands‑on demonstrations and activities.
•     Wednesday – Wood Framing
Looking for framing professionals to guide students through interactive builds.
•     Thursday – Drywall Day
Seeking drywall experts to teach techniques and lead demonstrations.

Each day also includes two speaking opportunities  one in the morning and one in the afternoon — where companies can share who they are, what they do, and why their work matters. This is a fantastic chance to inspire young women and highlight your organization’s role in shaping the built environment.
We are also in need of lunch sponsors for each day, as well as volunteers to help support activities, guide students, and ensure a smooth and memorable experience.

Girls Construction Camp is one of the most meaningful ways our chapter invests in the future of the industry. Your support whether through sponsorship, demonstrations, speaking, or volunteering helps us create an unforgettable week for these young women.
