March 2026/April 2026
President's Report
To our NAWIC Tampa Members and Friends,
What an unforgettable WIC Week! I am still absolutely blown away by the incredible turnout and the amazing women who showed up throughout the week. Every event was filled with energy, connection, and genuine celebration of the impact women make in construction every single day.
From our kickoff breakfast, to the One Tampa high‑rise tour, to our powerful virtual session on “The Power of No,” the entire week was a reminder of the strength and unity within our chapter. I want to give a huge thank‑you to our WIC Week Committee Chairs, Nina and Angelica, whose dedication and leadership made this year’s celebration outstanding. And of course, we are deeply grateful to our sponsors, Guignard and Stansell, for supporting our mission and helping make WIC Week possible.
As we look ahead, we have some exciting events coming up—starting with Girls Construction Camp, featured in this newsletter. This is one of our most meaningful outreach programs, and we need sponsors, speakers, and companies willing to demonstrate. Your involvement helps inspire the next generation of builders and shows young girls that they belong in this industry.
We’re also gearing up for our Clay Shoot Fundraiser, which is also highlighted in this issue. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been postponed—but only because we want it to be the best one yet. This fundraiser is essential to our chapter’s success. It allows us to continue improving our events, expanding our programming, and funding scholarships that directly support women entering and advancing in construction. We encourage every member to enter a team or ask your company to sponsor one. Everyone is welcome this is not a members only event, males and females welcome.
And of course, don’t forget our April meeting, where we’ll continue building momentum, strengthening connections, and growing together.
Thank you all for your continued support, enthusiasm, and commitment to NAWIC Tampa. Each evet you attend, every link you share is so important to our growth. Your Tampa board cares deeply about bringing this chapter into its next era of growth, networking, and community. Together, we are building something powerful for the women of Tampa Bay.
Warmly,
Crystal Wierzba

Meetings

Do not forget our next meeting next Monday, April 6. Our meeting is designed to spark ideas, share real experiences, and strengthen connections across our industry. Sign up today, registration closes soon.

Girls Construction Camp

NAWIC Tampa is gearing up for one of our most impactful annual programs Girls Construction Camp, a week‑long, hands‑on experience designed to introduce young ladies to the world of construction. This camp is more than a series of activities; it’s an opportunity to spark curiosity, build confidence, and show the next generation that they belong in this industry.
Each day of camp highlights a different trade, giving students the chance to learn directly from professionals, try real tools, and see the many career paths available in construction. We’re thrilled to share that Power Design has already committed to leading our Electrical Day on Friday, June 12, bringing their expertise and energy to the campers.
We are still seeking partners for the remaining days of camp:
• Monday, June 8 – Architectural Design
Looking for a company to lead demonstrations and introduce students to design concepts.
• Tuesday – Concrete Day
Seeking companies willing to provide hands‑on demonstrations and activities.
• Wednesday – Wood Framing
Looking for framing professionals to guide students through interactive builds.
• Thursday – Drywall Day
Seeking drywall experts to teach techniques and lead demonstrations.
Each day also includes two speaking opportunities one in the morning and one in the afternoon — where companies can share who they are, what they do, and why their work matters. This is a fantastic chance to inspire young women and highlight your organization’s role in shaping the built environment.
We are also in need of lunch sponsors for each day, as well as volunteers to help support activities, guide students, and ensure a smooth and memorable experience.
Girls Construction Camp is one of the most meaningful ways our chapter invests in the future of the industry. Your support whether through sponsorship, demonstrations, speaking, or volunteering helps us create an unforgettable week for these young women.
