President's Report

To Our Members and Industry Partners,

January set a powerful tone for 2026, and I’m incredibly proud of the momentum our chapter is already building. Our monthly meeting at Oak & Ola brought together an energized group of members and guests, reminding us how strong our Tampa community truly is.

One of the most meaningful accomplishments this month was the return of Block Kids to Tampa, sponsored by Schaefer General Contracting. Bringing this signature NAWIC program back has been a long‑standing goal, and seeing students dive into hands‑on STEM challenges reaffirmed why this event is so important to our mission. Block Kids is more than a competition — it’s an investment in the future of our industry and a direct reflection of NAWIC’s commitment to inspiring the next generation. We are deeply grateful to Schaefer for helping make this possible.

As we look ahead, WIC Week is right around the corner, and we have an incredible lineup planned. This year’s events will include:

  • A jobsite service project, where we’ll assemble and deliver Women in Construction Care Packages. We have to include wine of course. Members and non‑members should watch for the sign‑up to register their jobsite.

  • A behind‑the‑scenes site tour at One Tampa, offering an exclusive look at one of the city’s most exciting projects.

  • The ABC/NAWIC WIC Week Kickoff Breakfast, hosted in partnership with ABC. Please note that registration is through an external link, and we are honored to welcome Mayor Jane Castor as our guest speaker.

  • We will do a Lunch and Learn webinar on Thursday
  • Friday we will deliver our care packages and end with a happy hour at Oak and Ola to celebrate our week and each other!

We are also preparing for our annual Clay Shoot, one of our most impactful fundraisers of the year.

We are actively seeking sponsors for both WIC Week and the Clay Shoot.

In January, our chapter also spent two full days at the Tampa Build Expo at the Convention Center. Being present on the expo floor for 2 full days allowed us to introduce NAWIC Tampa to hundreds of industry professionals, strengthening our visibility and expanding our network in a meaningful way.

As we move deeper into 2026, I’m inspired by how far we’ve already come — and even more excited for where we’re headed. Our chapter is growing in impact, presence, and purpose. With your continued support, we will keep building opportunities for women in construction, strengthening our community, and shaping the future of our industry.

Thank you for your dedication, your energy, and your commitment to NAWIC Tampa. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and celebrating another year of progress together.

Warm regards,

Crystal Wierzba President, NAWIC Tampa Chapter #36
